IITM-EIACP Pune Promotes Eco-Friendly Diwali at 'Swadeshi Diwali' Event Pune

To mark International Climate Action Day, IITM-EIACP PC-RP, Pune, took part in the 'Swadeshi Diwali' event organized by Vanchit Vikas Abhaya NGO at SM Joshi Socialist Foundation, Navi Peth, Pune-30. The event promoted sustainable living and supported local artisans during the festive season. IITM-EIACP’s Marathi-language poster on eco-friendly Diwali practices was displayed at the stall, sharing practical tips for reducing pollution and supporting local craftsmanship. More than 530 people visited the stall to learn about environmentally friendly ways to celebrate Diwali. As a special activity, children from the Abhiruchi campaign painted clay diyas, adding creativity and a personal touch to the festivities while promoting eco-friendly choices. The initiative encouraged the community to embrace sustainable practices for a greener Diwali.
